I joined Higgs LLP in 2026 when it acquired Vialex, a legal services business which I founded in 2010 to advise companies and other businesses in the style and manner of in-house legal counsel.

It struck me that companies would benefit from having constant access to a dedicated team of legal advisers, rather than just taking advice on a reactive basis. Roll the clock forward, and what we now call our Legal Counsel Service team advises and supports a wide range of companies across all sorts of sectors in the core disciplines of corporate, equity and debt funding, commercial contracts, intellectual property, employment law, data protection, and regulatory and compliance. Because we deliver the service, we really get to know our clients' businesses, and with that in-depth knowledge, we can provide strategic input too.

It has been a privilege to work with so many talented and innovative businesses and to truly be part of their team.

My principal focus is on growing and developing the Legal Counsel Service, together with Navigator, our dedicated employment law, HR, health and safety, and data protection service, which works closely with the Legal Counsel Service.

However, with over 35 years of experience in mergers & acquisitions, corporate finance, and private equity, I continue to advise clients on their transactional needs.
