I joined Higgs LLP in 2026 when Vialex was acquired. I originally joined Vialex in 2012 to help deliver the vision to provide day-to-day legal advice to businesses practically and cost-effectively. I have also worked in-house in a variety of sectors – nuclear, economic regeneration, engineering, not to mention a London-based clothing brand, as well as several years as a corporate lawyer in a large Scottish legal firm.
I help clients with commercial contracts and issues across a wide spectrum, compliance matters and day-to-day legal work – essentially anything an experienced in-house lawyer would do.
I am dual-qualified in Scotland, England, and Wales.
- 13 years providing the legal function for a large UK branded consumer food manufacturer covering all its commercial legal work for the UK and export markets – including procurement, R&D/IP, sales, agency/distribution, online, marketing, advertising and consumer matters
- Over 12 years providing commercial legal support to a major independent spirits distiller on UK and international matters
- Over 11 years providing overspill legal support to the legal function of a leading international materials testing group (including global tier 1 customer/contractual relationships)
- 12 years acting as outsourced general counsel to a craft beer brewer, including brand/trade mark portfolio management, joint venture arrangements, key contracts and international agency/distribution agreements
- Advising university spin-out technology companies on contracts with Tier 1 technology companies
- Advising a manufacturing client on contracts for a major new production line
