I started working for the firm in 1989 as an office junior in the Employment team. Over the years, I progressed through the ranks until I qualified as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives in 2000. I left the firm in 2011, returning in 2021, having worked as an employment lawyer for other local solicitors’ firms and a large trade organisation.
I have a breadth of experience in employment law, from general day to day HR issues to more complex topics such as TUPE, immigration and trade union disputes. I advise on all aspects of the employment relationship from recruitment to performance management to termination of employment. I draft and negotiate settlement agreements and, when a client is issued with employment tribunal proceedings, I deal with the litigation process up to and including representing clients in both preliminary and full employment tribunal hearings.
I pride myself on delivering pragmatic and commercial advice and building strong relationships with my clients. Employment disputes are often challenging and emotive so it is essential to adopt a collaborative approach that ensures the best possible outcome for my clients.
