"I am a specialist employment solicitor working with employers and employees to resolve workplace disputes, taking a pragmatic and commercial approach to achieve the best results for clients.”
I am a specialist employment solicitor working with employers and employees to resolve workplace disputes. My experience as a police officer allows me to see the bigger picture and approach issues with a pragmatic and practical view to solving problems.
I have acted for numerous employers and employees in cases of unfair dismissal, disability discrimination, sex discrimination, age discrimination, TUPE and unlawful deduction from wages.
I am keen to work with employers to put robust policies and procedures in place at the outset and throughout employment to avoid litigation where possible. I am regularly instructed to draft employment contracts and staff handbooks. I also attend and conduct disciplinary and grievance meetings for my clients.
I have featured on a BBC Radio 4 programme focusing on employment rights issues and how they affect both employees and employers, and have successfully fought technical points of law at employment tribunals, including ensuring that an employee client was able to bring her claim against a well-known firm of administrators as well as the company in administration.
- Acting in a 15-day tribunal claim against a large council, achieving a settlement figure in excess of £400,000.
- Successfully defending a client from a sex, race and maternity discrimination claim after a contested four-day tribunal.
- Acting for a client in a whistleblowing claim and achieving an exit package of over £5,000,000.
