Aaliyah Simms
Legal Assistant - Wealth Preservation
"Current Legal Assistant within the Wealth Preservation Team at Higgs LLP.”
I am currently a Legal Assistant within the Wealth Preservation Team at Higgs LLP. I commence my training contract in September 2026, which I am incredibly excited for!
Before starting at Higgs, I spent two years working for the Solicitors Regulation Authority; initially within Thematic Engagement and later within the Professional Indemnity Insurance Team dealing with the wonderful intersection of insurance and regulation.
As a current member of the Birmingham Junior Lawyers Division as a Local Liaison, I can be found at various events aiming to increase participation within law at all levels.
I am a consultant member of the Anti-Racism Council at Student Minds and a grateful alumna of the University of Birmingham and the University of Law.
I speak publicly about social mobility within the profession, specifically adopted and care-experienced individuals and intersectionality.
I've recently finished my part-time LPC LLM as of July 2026.
Outside of work, I am working on campaigning for increased adoptee rights to their records – so watch this space!
