"I am a solicitor and a licenced insolvency practitioner with over 30 years’ experience assisting businesses and individuals struggling with financial difficulties.”

I began my career in insolvency on qualification as a Solicitor in 1990 at the Birmingham office of a large regional law firm. I later practiced in the East Midlands office of the same firm.

I sat and passed the JIEB examinations in 1997 and have held an insolvency licence since 1998, although I am now a non-appointment taker. In 2001 I spent a year in a business support role advising successful and unsuccessful businesses nationally before establishing my own firm in 2002 which was acquired by Higgs LLP in 2024.

I deal with all aspects of insolvency law, contentious and non-contentious and have experience of insolvency, business failure and underperformance in many business sectors.

As well as advising licensed insolvency practitioners, I work with turnaround professionals, company directors and other businesses managers, to avoid or minimise liabilities stemming from their management duties.

I have extensive experience in the insolvency and reconstruction of legal practices and have acted as the Court–appointed Special Manager of bankrupt legal firms and the Liquidator of several failed regulated legal services companies.

I am an Affiliate Member of Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and a full member of R3, the Association of Business Recovery Professionals.
