Kate Elwell
Chartered Legal Executive - Property Litigation
"I am a commercial property dispute chartered legal executive with a specialist interest in assisting clients with landlord and tenant disputes, lease renewals, break notices and dilapidations.”
I joined Higgs LLP in January 2014. Prior to joining Higgs, I was an associate chartered legal executive in a law firm based in Birmingham.
I have been advising on landlord and tenant disputes, break notices and dilapidations for around 20 years. Typically I assist clients in relation to serving 54 act notices, dealing with lease renewal proceedings, advising and serving break notices and claims for dilapidations.
I assist with situations involving the potential invalidity of landlord and tenant notices as well as potential invalidities in relation to break notices and advising on the consequences as a result of this. I am able to advise upon the likelihood of bringing a lease to an end in these situations and I act for both landlords and tenants.
My particular expertise involves 54 act notices and hostile and non-hostile lease renewals.
