11 November 2022

Higgs LLP has been recognised as a top firm in The Times Best Law Firms 2023 listing and commended for its expertise in personal injury and clinical negligence.

The Times listing honours the best lawyers for business, public and private-client law in England and Wales - all chosen by lawyers.

Higgs’ personal injury and clinical negligence teams received particular praise.

Nick Taylor, managing partner at Higgs LLP, said: “We are delighted to feature on The Times Best Law Firms listing, which is recognition of our strong performance.

“I am pleased that our personal injury and clinical negligence teams have received this well-deserved commendation which is a reward for the hard work and success enjoyed over the last 12 months.

“Both teams have achieved stunning results this year and are currently working on a number of complex and significant cases that will come to fruition shortly.”

Higgs’ personal injury and clinical negligence teams specialise in brain and spinal cord injuries, amputations, serious birth injuries, delayed diagnosis and fatalities, and are currently dealing with cases with estimated total damages of more than £50 million.

Notable successes include an eight-figure settlement for a client after a hospital failed to provide adequate care. The negligence caused life-threatening injuries, resulting in permanent neurological damage causing physical limitations and impaired cognitive function.

Higgs also achieved a six-figure settlement for a motorcycle passenger who suffered two broken legs, a knee fracture and significant scarring in an accident. Higgs also arranged significant rehabilitation.

The teams work with national charities, including Headway, AvMA and the Spinal Injuries Association, and have a particular focus on rehabilitation.
