Higgs LLP will host its Annual 6-a-side football tournament on Thursday, 18 June at Stourbridge Rugby Football Club as the community-driven event returns for its 18th year. The ongoing success of the tournament is truly down to the unwavering support of local businesses and community representatives.
This year, a total of 72 teams from across the West Midlands business community will take part and proceeds will be donated to the firm’s chosen charity, The West Midlands CARE Team, a group of volunteer healthcare professionals who deliver enhanced critical care to seriously injured and unwell patients in the community. The team relies entirely on charitable donations to fund its life-saving work, alongside other local causes supported through the event.
With the FIFA World Cup taking place at the same time, the clubhouse will also be showing live matches throughout the afternoon and early evening, adding to the atmosphere on the day.
Last year’s tournament was won by Ormerod Rutter, who beat Theataccounts in a closely contested final.
The event is open to teams of all abilities and is designed to be inclusive and enjoyable – families and supporters are welcome to come and cheer their teams on throughout the day and take advance of the ice cream van and BBQ.
