Employers and HR professionals are keen to understand the impact that the new Labour government will have upon employee rights and employment law. The Labour manifesto has promised:
- The removal of the two year qualifying service provision for unfair dismissal
- Day one rights for flexible working and parental leave
- One employment status, removing the confusion between employees and workers
- Increased sick pay rates and rights
- Increased access to Trade Unions to employees and an obligation to inform employees of their rights to join a union
- An end to “fire and rehire” practices impacting employers’ ability to force through changes in terms and conditions
- Increased equality rights, including strengthening the obligation to protect employees from sexual harassment and increased reporting for ethnicity and disability pay gaps
- Strengthening of the TUPE provisions
A panel of our experienced employment lawyers will discuss the above changes and any detail as to how they will operate in practice. Opportunity will be given to field questions from delegates.
We shall also deliver a case law review of any recent significant or interesting employment cases.
