If you are a director or a PSC of a company and have not yet completed your Companies House identity verification, we are holding an ID Verification Clinic to assist you with completing the process.
Why is ID verification important?
Companies House has introduced identity verification requirements as part of measures to improve the accuracy and reliability of information held on the Companies House register and to help prevent fraudulent or misleading use of company information.
Completing your identity verification is important because, where verification is required, failure to complete the process within the relevant timeframe may affect your ability to meet your legal obligations as a company director or person with significant control (PSC). It may also result in restrictions being placed on certain Companies House filings, restrictions on acting as a director and even criminal prosecution.
We therefore encourage anyone who has not yet completed their verification to take advantage of the clinic and complete the process as soon as possible as the deadline for completing this verification is coming up.
What to bring
- Your smartphone or other suitable device.
- The identification document required for verification, such as your passport or driving licence.
- Access to your email address and mobile phone.
We will be available to guide you through the process and answer any questions you may have.
If you have already completed your Companies House ID verification, no further action is required.
If you have not yet completed the process, we strongly recommend attending the clinic to ensure that your verification is completed promptly and that you remain compliant with the relevant Companies House requirements.
