"I am an employment lawyer who advises on all aspects of employment law and HR best practice. I also regularly support the wider business team on the employment aspects of corporate transactions. I have a special interest in supporting franchisees and start-up companies, and a passion for diversity and inclusion.”

I am an Associate in the employment law team at Higgs LLP. I graduated from the University of Durham in 2018 with a degree in Law and subsequently completed the Legal Practice Course at the University of Law in Leeds. I commenced my Training Contract at Higgs LLP in September 2019 and qualified as a solicitor in January 2022, having spent over a year in the employment department.

Outside of my day-to-day work, I have a particular focus on supporting start-up companies and a passion for diversity and inclusion, in particular protecting and promoting the rights of LGBTQ+ individuals in the workplace and outside of work. I am a proud member of our firm’s inclusion committee and head up our LGBTQ+ work stream. I am also a member of the Birmingham Law Society LGBTQ+ Sub Committee and Birmingham Law Society EDI committee, working to make the wider legal profession more inclusive.

I am the employment representative in our Start-Up Club, and passionate about providing legal support to start-up companies and entrepreneurs whilst their businesses are in their infancy. My work with start-ups includes pro-bono advice and delivering a legal workshop at Aston University’s BSEEN clinic and for the Black Country Chamber of Commerce start up club.

I am also a member of the firm’s Charity Committee and have recently volunteered at our local food bank and organised the firm’s annual charity Bake Off.

I get the opportunity to speak at our annual Employment Seminar each year, and regularly write articles for my both my personal LinkedIn page, the firm website, and external news outlets. I have been able to combine my passion for inclusion with my job as employment lawyer by providing commentary and opinion pieces on various topics, most recently focusing on gender inclusivity in the workplace, and neurodiversity in the workplace.

I was shortlisted as a Greater Birmingham Young Professional of the Year Finalist in 2023 as a result of my contribution to the legal profession and the wider Greater Birmingham community.

In my spare time, I sit on the committee for the Wolverhampton and Black Country Junior Lawyer Division and am a mentor for the University of Law, Birmingham.

My interests outside of work include singing, travel, cooking for friends and family, and playing tennis.
