To mark South Asian Heritage Month in July, colleagues from across Higgs came together to share their personal experiences and reflections in a special conversation celebrating identity, culture and belonging.
The discussion brings together Hardeep Kharbanda-Camp, Aman Sahota-Dhatt, Sangeeta Kohli and Shivangi Gupta, who speak openly about their individual circumstances and the role their heritage has played in shaping who they are.
At Higgs, we believe that understanding and celebrating the diverse experiences of our people helps create a culture where everyone feels valued, respected and able to thrive.
The conversation forms part of our ongoing commitment to inclusion and to creating opportunities for colleagues to learn from one another.
Although we all share South Asian heritage, our experiences have been shaped by different family histories and traditions. During this conversation, Aman, Sangeeta, Shivangi and I reflected on those experiences, the values that have stayed with us throughout our lives and how our heritage has influenced us both personally and professionally.
We also spoke openly about identity in the workplace, the importance of feeling able to bring your whole self to work and how having an understanding of one another's backgrounds can help us build stronger relationships with our colleagues, clients and communities.
If you have a few moments, we hope you will take the opportunity to watch the conversation. Whether something resonates with your own experiences or offers a different perspective, we hope you enjoy listening.
