I began my career as a plot sales paralegal within a new-build conveyancing team, where I contributed to creating a paperless department and supported the development and implementation of a new case management system to streamline the plot sales process. I later moved into commercial conveyancing to broaden my knowledge before joining Vialex and becoming a dual-qualified paralegal in both conveyancing and corporate.
I initially joined Vialex, providing support across real estate and transactions. Over time, my role expanded to include legal operations and legal technology across the business, while continuing to provide transactional support as a qualified paralegal. I also use live matters as development opportunities and case studies to map processes and procedures that can be implemented across the firm.
During this time, I have worked across multiple legal and operational departments, including compliance, training, legal technology, and IT. This experience has given me valuable insight into streamlining workflows, ensuring compliance, tracking legal data, and coordinating with other departments to support lawyers.
I joined Higgs LLP in 2026 following the acquisition of Vialex Limited.
- Development and integration of a case management system and review of filing procedures to make the department paperless.
- Large-scale due diligence and redaction support for external counsel on a competition claim.
- Transaction support on a private equity exit from a large funeral services provider.
- Project Management and production of a "ready for sale" Factbook for a private equity client.
- Roll-out of new firm-wide branding, including maintenance of the MS Word toolbar.
- Decommissioning of a server to take the firm to cloud-based services.
