Higgs strengthens Real Estate team with appointment of Partner Chris Oakley to lead development practice

Multi-Regional law firm, Higgs LLP today welcomes real estate development expert, Chris Oakley to the firm as a Partner, further strengthening the firm's continued growth.

Chris joins following over 20 years working at a tier 1 Real Estate team in London, with extensive experience advising domestic and international clients on a broad range of real estate development matters, including regeneration projects, investment acquisitions and disposals, and occupational work.

His transactional experience spans the office, retail and industrial sectors, having acted on a number of high-profile and strategically significant schemes across the UK.

Chris' appointment will provide the firm’s Real Estate clients with additional, specialist expertise which spans the full lifecycle of commercial property projects, from site acquisition and development through to investment and asset management.

Chris' arrival is the latest investment in Higgs' Real Estate team having welcomed Will Thomas in June. Most recently the team has been shortlisted as a finalist for Property Law Firm of the Year at the 2026 National Property Awards.
