Higgs LLP’s Commercial Property team has completed the £1.45 million sale of 142–148 High Street, Sevenoaks. The sale is a prominent multi-let retail and leisure investment home to Pizza Express, NFU Mutual and Oxfam.
The transaction, led by Higgs Legal Director, Maria Nicol involved close collaboration with Harry Eades at Sheet Anchor Evolve Limited to achieve the desired outcome for the client.
This particular completion is the latest in a line of successes for the team who have enjoyed a standout year of recognition for their work across both the commercial and residential property sectors.
Recent accolades include winning Property Law Firm of the Year at the National Property Awards in September – the second year running that the team has walked away with the title.
Further highlighting the team’s prominence in the West Midlands as a go-to legal advisor, in September 2025 alone, the team received 40 new commercial instructions with a combined freehold transaction value exceeding £12.6 million. They completed six freehold transactions and 25 lease deals. The highest single deal totalled more than £9 million, with yearly rents reaching up to £320,000.
The Residential Property team also delivered a strong performance, handling 55 new instructions during the month — including 22 sales, 12 purchases and three remortgages — with a combined transaction value of £8.4 million and an average deal value of £247,000.
These results underline the depth of expertise and commitment within the Higgs Property team, which is led by Partner Jen Hicks-Jones who recently celebrated a milestone first year as head of the team.
“This transaction turned out to be much more intense than originally anticipated, but through excellent collaboration we successfully achieved the result our client needed. It’s always rewarding to see such hard work pay off.”
