Women in Leadership: Be Your Authentic Self

Higgs LLP are proud to be hosting the next 'Women In Leadership' event at our offices in Brierley Hill on Thursday 25 June 2026.

The Black Country Chamber Commerce have partnered with the University of Wolverhampton to bring together women from across the region to explore what it truly means to be their authentic self - especially when challenges arise.

About the event

Following networking, lunch and a welcome from Lucy Rook, Chair of our Women in Leadership Steering Group, Jessica Shields of Jessica Shields Coaching will present and facilitate an interactive Q&A session.

Through real-world examples and practical guidance, we will explore:

  • How to show up as your authentic self in professional environments
  • Why you don’t always need to “put on a face” when things get tough
  • Healthy, constructive ways to lean on your professional network
  • Strategies for building confidence, resilience, and genuine leadership presence

This session is designed to be supportive, reflective, and empowering - ideal for women at any stage of their career journey.

This year’s theme for the festival is ‘Growth Without Limits’ which aims to ‘champion growth for all by unlocking opportunities and supporting ambitious businesses to succeed’.

As part of the programme of events, hear from Higgs LLP Legal Director and employment law expert, Jayne Holliday as she hosts a session aimed at HR professionals, in-house counsel and business leaders who need to be informed on the latest employment law developments including employer obligations and practical steps for compliance.
