I joined Higgs in August 2018 as a plot conveyancer. Prior to joining Higgs, I worked in a large national law firm in Birmingham City Centre.
Originally specialising in plot sales, I have experience in dealing with plot sales on over 20 sites of different sizes and for small and large developers from the initial instruction through to completion.
I have dealt with complex sites involving third party landowners and managed the associated complex third-party consents and sale requirements.
More recently I have dealt with residential property sales and transfers.
- I recently dealt with a high value sale of a client’s holiday home in Cornwall. It was protracted as an application had been made to the Council for part of the property to be designated as ‘waste of a manor’. I worked with the client to have the application withdrawn and the sale was able to proceed successfully.
- A sale I was instructed on of a property in a deceased person’s estate was complicated in that various works had been done to the property without the required building regulations sign-off. It was necessary for retrospective building regulations consent to be obtained. The matter went on for a number of months but the issues were all dealt with and the matter was able to proceed to completion.
