I am a member of the commercial litigation team, having joined Higgs as a senior associate in November 2021. Prior to joining Higgs, I was a solicitor of another large regional law firm.
I advise on a wide range of commercial litigation matters including breach of contract claims, claims amongst directors and shareholders, claims relating to reputation management, claims relating to restrictive covenants and claims arising from the supply of goods and services.
In addition, I advise in relation to construction industry specific legislation and have experience advancing and defending contentious construction disputes, including matters referred to adjudication.
- Acted on several successful claims for payment of early termination charges on fixed term contracts.
- Experience recovering payment of outstanding sums due under Asset Purchase and Share Purchase Agreements.
- Advised on a £550,000 joint venture claim which was settled on favourable terms to my client.
- Advised on £200,000+ repudiatory breach of contract claim which settled on favourable terms at mediation.
- Recently successfully obtained an Order setting aside default judgment against my client and secured payment of my client’s associated costs.
- Experience in successfully obtaining court orders restoring companies to the Register and (separately) orders extending the time to register charges at Companies House.
- Assisted on a £4+ million construction dispute that was referred to adjudication.
- Advised on a £100,000+ final account dispute between a contractor and sub-contractor, and negotiated an early settlement of the dispute on favourable terms for my client.
