Growing Higgs welcomes eight new trainees

Award-winning law firm Higgs LLP has reaffirmed its commitment to investing in the next generation of lawyers by welcoming eight new trainees.

Higgs is renowned for providing industry-leading opportunities for trainees to qualify and progress, giving them a springboard to start a successful career in law.

The future lawyers will fill positions in a range of departments, including PI & Clinical Negligence, Property, Business Services, Family and Private Client.

Sophie Wardell, HR Director at Higgs LLP, said: “It’s always exciting to welcome a new cohort of trainees. They bring fresh enthusiasm and ideas into our firm as they take the next step in their legal careers.

“We will ensure these new trainees are given the very best support from some of the region’s most experienced and respected lawyers. They will undertake a wide variety of work and play a vital role in the teams they are operating in.

“Our unwavering commitment to trainees not only demonstrates our desire to support and champion the next generation of lawyers, it also shows the firm’s ambition to continue our impressive growth in recent years, offering a leading service across multiple practice areas.”

The arrival of the eight new trainees, including solicitor apprentices, takes Higgs’ total number across two cohorts to 17.

Adam Hussain, who has experience working as an investigator at the Legal Ombudsman, will join Higgs' thriving PI and Clinical Negligence department, while University of Law Birmingham graduate Arjun Mann will learn the ropes within the Tax team.

Georgia McCutcheon will bring her experience of working as a paralegal for a local housing association to Higgs' Estates team, Asim Faraz will take a seat in the Business Services department and Kate Woodhouse joins the Wealth team after successfully completing the Higgs Vacation Scheme.

Birmingham City University graduate Lauren Moult will assist the Family team, Megan Davies will bolster the growing Court of Protection team and finally, Sam Dell, another Higgs Vacation Scheme success story, will provide valuable help to the busy Corporate lawyers.

Earlier this year Higgs was crowned Regional Law Firm of the Year at the Birmingham Law Society Legal Awards. The firm has also received high rankings in the latest Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners Review.

Higgs’ popular Vacation Scheme application process opens on November 1 and closes on January 31.
