Legal firm puts best foot forward for charity walk

A team of legal specialists from one of the Black Country’s leading law firms will be putting their best foot forward in the name of charity later this month.

Higgs LLP will be represented in the Child Brain Injury Trust (CBIT) Malvern Hills Challenge on Sunday, September 12.

The CBIT was established by a group of health professionals in 1991 to research and provide information regarding the effects of traumatic injury on a child’s developing brain.

The Malvern Hills Challenge offers two potential routes – one of six miles and the other of 3.5 miles – for participants to complete.

Claire Burnell, a Senior Associate in the Personal Injury team at Higgs LLP and part of the Birmingham Fundraising Group for CBIT, said: “We are delighted to be supporting this event for CBIT as it’s a charity close to so many of us at Higgs LLP.

“Particularly in the Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence teams, we sadly come into contact with a number of cases where a child suffers brain injuries and the work CBIT does is outstanding, in terms of making a prompt diagnosis and then helping both the child and family enjoy the best quality of life possible.

“A number of people from across Higgs LLP have committed to competing in the event and we hope to raise as much money as possible for this worthy cause.

“The Malvern Hills will ensure there are some testing moments on the walk but we are looking forward to the challenge.”

The event begins at either 10.30am or 11.30am, depending on the route of choice, with the entrance costs of £45 for an individual, £100 for a family, and £250 for a corporate group of up to six adults.

All proceeds go to CBIT and places can still be booked by visiting https://childbraininjurytrust.org.uk/events/cbit-malvern-hills-challenge-2021/
